Enjoying water sports in Barcelona

Barcelona welcomes the summer season with open arms, bringing along the time to hit the beaches and take a dip in the sea. But for the fortunate ones who live near the coast or visit heavenly places like Barcelona, lazing on a towel under the soothing “Servesa beeeir” is no longer the ultimate dream. In addition to beach volleyball, tennis, and other classics of the beach genre, we have explored how to entertain ourselves with active marine entertainment.

Jet Ski in Barcelona

Experience:

Jet Skiing in Barcelona is no more difficult than cycling. The vast water space, speed, wind in your face, and sea spray make it euphoric.

Suitable for:

Speed and outdoor activities lovers. It is safe as the Jet Ski is easy to operate, and the driver and passenger are provided with life jackets. The chances of it overturning are negligible, even if you develop supersonic speeds.

Cost:

 100 euros/half hour, 180 euros/hour. Maximum 2 people per jet ski.

Location:

Moll de Marina, 9 metro station Ciutadella / Vila Olímpica (L4), opposite Casino Barcelona.

Opening hours:

 Monday – Friday from 09:30 to 14:00 and from 15:00 to 20:30, Saturday from 10:00 to 15:00.

Flyboarding

Experience: Flyboarding is a young water sport that quickly became popular among outdoor activity enthusiasts. It involves a board attached to the legs, which is propelled by a powerful stream of water created by a jet ski connected to the board.

Cost:

 85 €/15 minutes, 160 €/half an hour (1-2 people), 300 €/hour (1-3 people, subject to change).

Paddle Surfing

Experience:

Barcelona may not be the best place for classic surfing, but there are many other types, including paddle surfing. It is a popular water sport in Barcelona, where you stand on a board and row wherever you look. It is a calm, measured, and meditative sport.

Suitable for:

Paddle surfing is suitable for those who prefer to enjoy life slowly, the sea, the sun, and the Barcelona holidays. However, balance is essential in this sport, and the lack of wind is also important. Falling is inevitable if at least one condition is wrong.

Cost: From 35 €/90 minutes, with various training programs available.

Location: Parc del Fòrum, El Maresme / Fòrum metro station (L4), 10 minutes walk to the beach.

Wakeboarding

Experience: Wakeboarding involves standing on a board and rushing at a speed of several knots, followed by crashing into the water, which is part of the fun. The technique of standing on foot and the board is taught first, then you can get started. It feels like snowboarding, but you will not roll head over heels down a mountain; instead, you gently sway along the waves you have just overtaken. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll only see chips flying from the board! However, even experienced wakeboarders can still enjoy challenging themselves with new tricks and techniques.

Cost: 1 hour: € 70, 2 hours: € 120

Address: Port Forum, El Maresme / Fòrum metro station (L4)

Opening hours: daily from 10:00 to 20:00

In summary, Barcelona has plenty of water sports to offer for those looking for a more active and adventurous seaside experience. From jet skiing to flyboarding, paddle surfing to wakeboarding, there’s something for everyone, regardless of skill level or age. So why not try something new and exciting during your next visit to Barcelona?
